Proudly no longer "other"; Facebook updates profile options!

After garnering a membership of 14'000, along with countless other groups directed at getting Facebook to allow for more than the standard, listed political views, I have triumphantly left the group of By "Other" I mean "Socialist".

I'm now proud to say my political views are listed as "Eco-Socialist".

Breaking News: OpenOffice.org to release Mac version which is already usable as a development snapshot!

Finding this nice link on GullFOSS (Sun's OpenOffice dedicated Blog), I downloaded the development snapshot of OpenOffice 2.4 for Mac (in Aqua). Having tested numerous releases, and having worked with every single possible productivity suite for Mac out there, it now seems there is something sturdy and reliable. Previously, documents would not open properly, it did not use Mac's finder save panel, it was slow, and there were visual glitches from time to time.

Mac is a sore loser

I'm learning how to play chess. Apparently there is some bug with Mac chess, where it can't make up it's mind on what good piece to loose. Attached are three saved games with me (white) poised to take at least on of the computer's (black) key pieces. It's the computer's turn, and you can see that nothing is happening. I'm not that good, but I have to say it's an annoyance to have the computer cornered only to have the computer say "I hate this game, I hate this world, and I hate you!". I'm sure if the wimp could actually flip the board over and run off... it would. pshha.

So it turns out my iBook may last a bit longer yet

Well, what an adventure. I'll have plenty to say about my trip to Ottawa this week. I'm here at the OpenConcept office, working away with my friends. Having a blast catching up with people I haven't seen in a while! For the first time I flew up here on the good grace of West Jet's $11 flight (a story for another day).
