Chicken Coop: voila!

I've been writing in some programming guides that for Quakers, building coops and playing with worms is a religious experience. Well, I guess I've been saved! Hallelujah! It's been nearly a week since Paul mentioned that the chickens may be coming in on Thursday or Friday, which meant I've been working 'a butt-load' to get this thing done!

I'm now looking for a really hip name for the sucker. In a book I saw a duck coop called "Duckingham Palace"; I wish I could have that in chicken form.

There are some things that I haven't finished: door, window, screening, metal roof, etc. However I'm going to put one more day of tinkering and finishing up. I think what I like most about this coop, is that it only costs a few bucks for the power to run the saw and drill, and then the screws. The rest was entirely free! The forecast for today is thunderstorms, which meant I was going crazy trying to get the roof on. I was nearly running back and forth to get all the roof over.

That reminds me of one final think about this coop. Because of it's location, it' is without power. This means that I have had to work without power nearby. That's right, walking back and forth I'd say about a football field each time I get a measurement wrong, or need a new piece.

As I type this I'm fading fast. I'm sooo tired and will likely take a small nap before Becca comes to hang out.
