Dalton.ca buggers up the TTC... I think

Here I was about to write a solidarity post about the TTC workers, when Dalton.ca McGuinty stole the spotlight . In a bogus attempt to obscure a legitimate strike, he wants to declare the whole system an essential service. So I guess that means the TTC workers have lost, management wins? Well...

"Declaring the TTC an essential service would put transit workers on the same footing as police and firefighters, forbidden by law from striking, but beneficiaries of arbitrated wage settlements that are often more lucrative than those achieved through collective bargaining."

... umm. Now I'm just confused. I suppose if you want another essential service, Dalton, you have to pay through the nose to get it. Just ask any city about police budgets.
